Gold Coast Power Boat & Sports Club Inc (GCPBSC Inc) will host a two day event at Marine Stadium, Muriel Henchmen Park & Doug Jennings Park Main Beach.
The inaugural running of Gold Coast Liquid Lightning will be held at Marine Stadium, the Spit, SeaWorld Drive, Main Beach, from 15th to 16th October. The GCPBSC Inc is conducting this event after a successful past 5 years at Lake Dyer, Laidley with their Lockyer Powerfest event. We pride ourselves in conducting an elite competition, with visual excitement, speed and excellence! Boat racing is a fast action packed exciting form of motor sport where no lap is ever the same as the water conditions change every lap! Boats in the premier class can get to speeds of over 140 mph which if you have been in a social boat/fishing boat you'll understand how fast that is, and if not, it's fast! Circuit boat racing is still targeted at the family audience and with the introduction of the new Formula Futures (Junior Class), the family is well catered for during our event. For those who are not familiar with the sport the initial sight of a powerboat can be awe-inspiring. The noise of V8 boats certainly grabs your attention and the rooster tails and the attitude of the boats while racing is sure to entertain everyone. Over the years, powerboat racing has obtained strong support from local and national companies along with a growing support from local and state governments, as due to the larger audiences, boat racing is fast becoming a tourist attraction in areas where these events are held.
